The World was forced to transform at an inadvertent pace in the wake of the unforeseen pandemic that has overtaken our routines for almost six months now. However, Communicators worldwide have started adapting to these changes and innovating in accordance with the conditions.

1. Decentralisation in the field

While the technologies adopted due to the pandemic are creating a digital divide between people who have access to technology versus those who don’t, it also has the power to bridge the gap between large corporations and small corporations. There has been a significant rise in novice micro influencers on social media due to the levelling of the playing field. Work from home has eased the work of many employees. Within workplaces as well, all networks have become decentralised. All data and information has started becoming available to all through online cloud servers.

2. Digital Advancement

COVID 19 has slowed down the world, but has accelerated change, especially with regard to technology. From Educational sectors, to the health sectors, all communications take place online. Many softwares which enable online collaboration for work have come to the forefront. The scope of communication has widened as remote conditions allow collaborations from nations across the world.

3. Support to Women

Many women are benefiting from the Work From Home arrangement, as the onus of family responsibilities usually falls on them, which hinders their work commitments. It is hopeful that female led narratives will rise in the POST COVID era making the workplaces more inclusive.

4. Emphasis on Purpose

The pandemic has aroused the collective consciousness of all humans by reminding us of the fragility and importance of life. Thus all communications are now embedded with purpose to create social impact. Individuals and organisations have started becoming more sensitive and socially aware.

5. Concerns of Safety and Security

New circumstances, call for newer challenges. There have been many contentions regarding security and privacy on digital spaces, mostly regarding cloud sharing. The remote hiring of personnel has also become a task of caution. The concerns of safety have risen on both online and offline platforms. Trust and Security have become the foundation of all communications worldwide.
