New York

Call me a product of hegemony, but for me, going to New York was nothing less than a dream come true! I went on a 10 day trip to New York with a bunch of friends to explore around good Under-graduate level colleges and universities. It was a 10 hour long flight journey via Dubai. Our flight was like a melting pot of different cultures, religions and ethnicities. Some were seated with bright shining eyes, wanting to make it big in the Big apple, while some eyes showed fear of the unknown challenges that this city may welcome them with! We were really exhausted by our flight journey. But as soon as we reached the city, an evangelic zeal had taken over us! Being the month of January, the weather was quite chilly and the streets were filled with layers of snow. Yet, the city life remained undisturbed. I would highly recommend all my readers to carry thick soled boots and cover themselves with layers of clothing instead of a single heavy jacket as it facilitates greater insulation. I felt like utilising each and every second of mine in this city that never sleeps. So we headed to the Times Square that same night. Standing in that place was like giving life to several TV shows like F.R.I.E.N.D.S and others which have glorified that place in various episodes. It is a delight to all those who love to shop!

The next day I went around the city alone for a stroll. Just like the tersest and cantos of any beautiful piece of poetry, the city is beautified by its organised squares and streets. My feet had an unusual spring and the air I inhaled pumped positive vibes in me that wanted me to stay there forever. One belongs to New York instantly; one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years. Do visit this place if you want to take your soul on a stroll, and even if you don’t visit any famous monuments there, just a stroll in the city would provide you with an enchanting experience which you will never ever forget!
